Letter of Gratitude

Aneta Krpekyan

Thank you for supporting Aneta Krpekyan

To my beloved family, friends, and dedicated supporters, I am profoundly grateful for the overwhelming support I have received from my community. Many of you didn't see this as just Aneta's campaign, but a campaign representing thousands of voices, making this not just my campaign, but OUR CAMPAIGN.

My deepest gratitude goes to my husband and our two young children, who sacrificed the most so I can campaign for 8 months. It has not been easy, but I viewed this as a task I must complete for the betterment of our children and our wonderful community.

A heartfelt thank you to my team and the incredible volunteers who tirelessly knocked on over 4,000 doors, raising awareness for our cause. I am overwhelmed at how much time you dedicated out of your busy lives to help me bring attention to this campaign. We didn’t have paid staff, but parents and community members who spent thousands of hours to reach voters. It was heartwarming to see all the Aneta Krpekyan for GUSD yard signs.

I'm grateful for every donation I received, despite the economic challenges our country is facing. Your generosity helped reach our campaign's financial goals. Even though a large amount of money was spent on my opposition and smear campaigns targeting me, we managed to run a very strong campaign and our resilience was our armor. I was astounded to hear back from my top donors who stated if I were to run for another campaign, they would happily donate again. That type of commitment and trust is very rare to find these days.

On election night, our campaign was in the lead by 465 votes and remained in the lead for 7 consecutive days. However, after an unscheduled Saturday ballot count, we noticed large amounts of votes coming in for my opponent, Neda Farid who was ultimately certified as the "winner" of Area E, with a lead of 190 votes.

Throughout this challenging journey, I faced calculated harassment and discrimination by supporters of my opponent, including entities such as the Glendale Teachers Association, GlendaleOut and individuals like Glendale city Mayor Dan Brotman. Despite their efforts, we led an honest, honorable and purpose-filled campaign, which was the true definition of grassroots effort. Our work spoke for itself.

I hope that Glendale schools and leaders will work to bridge gaps and raise standards for all. The trust between parents and Glendale Unified School District (GUSD) has naturally been broken. For the sake of our children, I pray the current board has realized their mistakes, and works to make things right.

As a local mother living in south Glendale with two young children, I will continue to support and advocate for the best for my community. I will continue to support candidates who will be on the November 2024 ballot, and I encourage all to continue to stay engaged.

As I said during the GUSD Candidate Forum, regardless of the election results, I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE, and I hope I have inspired you to stick around and continue to support those of us who work on the daily to make this world a safer place for our children.

God Bless.
